Pexafy is a search engine for free-to-use stock photography. It indexes 9M+ images from 9 sources — Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay and others — into a single catalogue, and searches that catalogue by meaning rather than by the tags somebody typed under each photo: you describe the picture you want and get ranked results in well under a second. Queries and images share one vector space, so the same search works in over 100 languages without a translation step, and an image can be used as the query instead of text. The catalogue is reachable three ways: a REST API with a single key in place of one key per stock provider, a Python SDK, and an MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client search and display photos inside a conversation. The free tier covers 5K+ API requests a month, with no attribution requirement and no application review before the first call. Pexafy is a brand of OSCAR HOLDING, a French company registered in Paris, and was founded in 2025 by Marouane Tijani.
